I loved to read as a child, getting lost in the stories and off on an adventure I'd go. So, I really enjoy working with books and quality book companies like Scholastic Storybook Treasures who bring reading into the homes of children via read-along DVD's. I actually never even knew these existed but what better way to capture your little one's attention and teach them to read or improve on their reading skills at the same time?
With Thanksgiving coming up, Scholastic Storybook Treasures offers a fun accompaniment to the festivities with "Giving Thanks...and more stores to celebrate American Heritage". This DVD includes 4 stories which encompass American history and friendship skills. Set to be released November 22, Giving Thanks is recommended for children ages 4-9 with a running time of 92 minutes, this DVD would make for a great stocking stuffer as well a lesson in history!

Caldecott Favorites, set to be released on November 22 as well, is a 3 disc set featuring 20 stories with classic favorites and award-winners like "The Ugly Duckling". Each DVD brings back heart warming memories of stories we've all heard or read in our childhood and are timeless classics that we'd like to pass onto the next generation. Plus, there are also Spanish versions of 3 stories, which also include the Read-Along function. Recommended for children ages 2-9, these three DVD's have a run time of 3 hours, 19 minutes + extras. This is a perfect gift to the little ones in your life, ahem, with the holiday season now here!
